Background
Stephen Fairfield got his Bachelor's in Astronomy in 1993 from the University of Massachusetts and went on to do 2 years of graduate work at the University of Wyoming before graduate-level physics persuaded him to try something else, though not before co-authoring 2 publications. He got his Master's in Library Science in 1998 from Texas Women's University. Prior to coming to UConn, he worked at AT&T Laboratories.
