NEWSPAPER ARTICLE CRITERIA

PARAGRAPH #1:

Briefly identify the subject(s) of your article.  (WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY, HOW?)  These 6 subjects should be clearly stated in your introductory paragraph.

 

PARAGRAPH #2 +:

Elaborate on your introduction.  Provide details, facts, examples, quotations, and statistics to support the main idea(s) of your news article.

 

 

PRESENTATION:

 

Design your news article to look like an actual piece written by a news reporter.  Some suggestions to do this include, but are not limited to:

·       set up columns                              

·       include a catchy title

·       include pictures

·       use a font that attracts the reader

·       write as though you an outside reporter witnessing the story

 

 

GRADING:

10 = A+ (100)

  9 = A- (93)

  8 = B  (85)

  7 = C  (75)

  6 = D  (65)

  5 and below = F  (55 and below)
