International Conflict and Cooperation.
Graduate course designed as an overview of the issues and problems engendered by international conflict and cooperation and
how the changing nature of global interactions both helps and hinders
the pursuit of cooperative solutions to global problems. It is an active learning course emphasizng critical analysis of the research methods used
in the field. As a research seminar, the
primary goal is for students to produce a publishable paper by the end of the
semester.
International Political Economy.
Taught at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
Utilizing a wide array of media and active learning approaches (including
computer simulation (Barry Hughes’ IFs Model), both courses are surveys of IPE
from diverse conceptual and theoretical perspectives. At the graduate level, because it is a research
seminar, the primary goal is for students to produce a publishable paper by the
end of the semester.
International Relations Theory.
Graduate course designed to introduce students to the major theoretical
and methodological approaches to the study of international relations.
Seminar in Political Economy. Graduate
level course spanning across the political science sub-field. Critical analysis of the
interaction between politics and economics. Developed as an
introductory graduate course in this field of study.
International Negotiation and Bargaining.
Senior level course focusing on negotiation and
bargaining and its place within the international relations arena. Students participated in a multi-lingual,
multi-national computer-assisted simulation. Uses the case
and simulation methods.
International Relations.
A general introductory course touching on many
elements of international relations theory and contemporary international
issues.
Politics of American Foreign Policy.
Senior level course focusing on the American foreign
policy process and the themes underlying American foreign policy. Uses the case and
