Historical Statistics of the United States (HSUS) (UConn Only)

Statistics of the United States, covering population, work and welfare, economics, governance, and international relations. Primary data. Census data starts c1790; some data available from the 1600s; available through 2000 census. 1700s-current.

IAED - International Archive of Education Data

"Data will encompass the "inputs" to education (funding, personnel, teaching resources, facilities, teacher and student preparation, etc.), the variety of processes by which teaching and learning occur, and the "outputs" of education (graduation and matriculation rates, drop-out rates, test scores, job placements, life histories, life assessments, etc.)" (description on Web site).

ICPSR

Information on Public Schools and School Districts in the United States

National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), Common Core of Data (CCD), the primary database on public elementary and secondary education in the US. CCD survey annually collects data about all public elementary and secondary schools, all local education agencies, and all state education agencies throughout the U.S.

School Enrollment data are collected annually in the October Current Population Survey (CPS, CP-20) for the Nation. Detailed information from recent surveys and historical trends in selected topics are available as well. Some files go back to 1947

National Bureau of Economic Research, special tabulation of 1990 Census long forms by school district boundary and children's ages. Covers large number of combinations of household type, race, income etc. Categorized by children's age, grade level or enrollment status.
