Center for Applied Statistics (CAS)
The Center for Applied Statistics (CAS) can provide assistance to students on statistical areas of their research involving the design of surveys, data analysis, interpretation of results, statistical software questions, and other areas. Connecticut Center for Economic Analysis (CCEA)
The Connecticut Center for Economic Analysis (CCEA) serves the people of the state by providing Economic Indicators and Forcasts, specifically for Connecticut. CCEA staff consult with public and for-profit decision makers, developing complex Economic Studies as the basis for long-term, strategic planning. Connecticut State Data Center (CtSDC)
The Connecticut State Data Center (CtSDC) is preparing original Demographic Research for the State of Connecticut. CtSDC is specifically chartered to assist data users to locate and understand the coverage and limitations of a broad range of data sources. A liaison in Connecticut for the U.S. Census Bureau, the CtSDC is constantly evaluating Census and regional data. The CtSDC Web site is: http://ctsdc.uconn.edu.
Learning Resource Center (LRC)
The University of Connecticut's Learning Resource Center (LRC) strives to elevate student proficiency utilizing academic information technology. The LRC provides direct assistance to students via peer tutoring, workshops, on-demand assistance through a help desk, and the creation of innovative learning modules. Housed on Level 1 of the Homer Babbidge Library, the LRC provides support for Storrs and Regional Campus students with information technology that impacts the completion of their academic assignments. The help desk is staffed by Student Educational Technology Assistants (SETAs) who are trained to offer basic support for campus academic information technologies. They help students with Course Tools (HuskyCT), E-portfolio, Huskymail, PeopleSoft's Student Administration module, and the Computer Technology Competency general education requirements. Roper Center
The Roper Center archives contains public opinion data collected by all of the major polling organizations in the U.S. and many abroad. Surveys conducted since the beginning of scientific polling in the 1930s, to those conducted just last week, are available through this resource. At UConn, these holdings are accessible 24/7 from any campus workstation via its Web site at: www.ropercenter.uconn.edu. The Center's offices are located on Level 3 of the Homer Babbidge Library.
University of Connecticut Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (UCCGIA)
The UCCGIA works to advance the use of geographic data and spatial analytic techniques in research, teaching, and service at the University of Connecticut and in the region it serves. UCCGIA staff can answer your questions about geographic data, GIS operations, and mapping. The Web site is: http://uccgia.lib.uconn.edu. The Center is also responsible for the ESRI GIS Software Site License (http://geog.uconn.edu/esri/). The UCCGIA office is located on Level 4 of the Homer Babbidge Library.
