Special Libraries

There are five special libraries on the Storrs campus established to house materials relating to special subjects or formats.

Archives & Special Collections

Archives & Special Collections provides access to manuscripts, archives, and rare book collections.
Location: in the Dodd Research Center, adjacent to the Homer Babbidge Library (HBL). [Directions to Library]

Art & Design Library

The Art & Design Library collects resources relating to the visual arts, including art history, garden history, graphic design, landscape architecture, photography, and studio arts.

Map & Geographic Information Center (MAGIC)

The Map & Geographic Information Center is an on-line library of digital geo-spatial data. The Map Library is a collection of over 150,000 maps, 20,000 aerial photographs, microforms, atlases and reference books.

Music & Dramatic Arts Library

The Music & Dramatic Arts Library houses more than 72,000 books, playscripts, journals, musical scores, sound and video recordings, CD-ROMs, and online resources related to research in music and dramatic arts. Audiovisual playback facilities are available.
Location: in the Music Library Building (MLIB) at the center of the Fine Arts Complex, South Campus. [Directions to Library] [HBL Floorplans]

Pharmacy Library

The Pharmacy Library provides information and supports academic research in pharmacy and related subject areas.
Location: room 340 on the third floor of the H. G. Hewitt Building (HEW), 372 Fairfield Road, across from the Homer Babbidge Library. [Directions to Storrs Campus]
